We have recently been sent the brand new single from Brit Award nominee Ramz. He released his brand new single Scratch Cards on 3rd July. Ramz is a singer/songwriter and rapper from London and has been nominated for a Brit Award at this years awards ceremony for one of his previous works, Barking. Barking also peaked at number 2 in the UK Charts.
Scratch Cards starts off with an acoustic piano riff, which is really melodic and really builds tension for the opening of the track. As the tension build Ramz starts his lyrical masterclass, you can heard a lot of passion in his voice for these lyrics, this song really does mean a lot to him.
From the opening bar your foot is tapping long with the track, you are gripped to every word that Ramz spits out and the song fits well in with the Afroswing genre that has been successful for Ramz in the past.
Overall, I do think this style of music is very current and commercially is very in trend. The Afroswing genre has been very successful in the mainstream UK chart of late and I expect Scratch Cards to follow suit and head into the charts at quite a high level.
Ramz is a new artist to myself but i really enjoyed what i heard and I expect a lot of success from his young man in the future, with his dancehall vibes he will be around the charts for a long time to come.
