Laura Oakes - How Big Is Your World

I was recently sent the new EP from Up and Coming Country artist Laura Oakes

How Big is Your World starts of with the very upbeat and catchy 'Welcome to The Family'. Personally it made me feel like a fan and she was welcoming me to her music. Very clever and very catchy.

Better in Blue Jeans is a stand out track. Very Country Pop, can hear a lot of Lady Antebellum in the track. Very current and with the country scene and I'd be very shocked if this didn't top the Country charts in the near future. Awesome track.

The thing that strikes me is how her songs are very Shania Twain in her prime, catchy, chart worth but not swaying from her style and would definitely appeal to a lot of audiences and not just the country scene, Old Ghost is a prime example of this.

Learn to Be Lonely Again is a beautiful song and really shows off Laura's wonderful voice. Her storytelling in this song is shown throughout as well and gives you a feel of how Laura is learning to be lonely.

Finally, How Big is Your World, the title track of the album. This caps off a truely amazing debut album by one of country musics brightest up and coming talents. How Big is Your World is quite a statement because I am pretty sure Laura is going to find out how big the world is soon enough.
