We recently received this new song from Christie Huff. Christie is a Country singer/songwriter who splits her time between LA and Nashville but is originally from Arizona. She has opened up for lots of big Country artists including Chris Bandi and Bebe Rexha. We are going to review Half Way Fell which was released on 5th June and is also available to stream on our The Unsigned Reviewer playlist on Spotify.
The first thing that hits me is the strength of Christie's voice, vocally she has a really powerful tone to her voice, very much like LeAnn Rimes. Alongside the acoustic opening, Christie's voice really shines through and really grips you form the opening.
Lyrically, Christie really brought her story to life, her unlucky in love story really makes you listen to the words.
The song built up nicely and got stronger and stronger as the song went on. By the end I was hooked and you can see why this has been such a big hit on the streaming sites.
This Country/Pop song is really current and fresh with its sound. I can see this really appealing to the mainstream music scene and not just the Country music scene as I feel there is a hole in the market for Christie's type of music.
Overall, this is a very strong single from Christie and one we are sure will be a massive hit for her. It is easy to see why Christie is really making waves in the Country music scene with her powerful voice and catchy country tunes.
We are big fans of Christie here at The Unsigned Reviewer and we cant wait to hear what comes next from one of Country music rapidly rising stars.
